What's a day at the beach without getting in the water? Once Reagan got her toes wet, there was no stopping her! She loved it! The only problem was getting her to leave. Once she was out of the water and all wet, the wind was more than just a little bit cold. So we bundled her up and then took her home to pull sand out of every little crevice that she has on her body. Just like her Mommy, she truly loves a day at the beach!
We took Reagan to White Rock Beach to enjoy the sunny weather that we are finally getting to enjoy. She loved walking along the sandy areas, but she wasn't too sure about getting her hands all dirty at first. Once Ryan wiped them off for her a few times, she decided that it didn't bother her that much. Then it was off to the races. She was running around and playing in the sand like a true BEACH BUM!!!
Lately, if you can't find Reagan it means she is hiding out in Dixie's house. She will crawl all the way inside, shut the little door, and just play in Dixie's house! Dixie hasn't really decided how she feels about it yet, but she is being a good dog and sharing with Reagan!
It's official. As of today, I am a full-time stay-at-home mom! Today would have been my first day back at work after my 13-month maternity leave, but I just couldn't do it. I think that deep down in my heart, I knew from the moment that Reagan was born that I was meant to have no other job in this world than to be her mom. It took awhile for my heart to convince my head of this, but once it happened there was no changing my mind! Ryan and I talked about it for months, and we both agree that it is the best decision for Reagan. I went to my boss at the beginning of March to give him a two-month warning that I was not returning to my position at Trinity Western University. I will continue to work a couple of hours on the weekends at Newlands Golf and Country Club as a bridal assistant. You can check out my website for more details on this job ~ http://web.mac.com/TheBridesAssistant I have been doing this for the past few summers, and it is really a fun job. Some weekends I may only work two hours total, but there are a few weekends that I will work 8-12 hours each day. On those days, Ryan gets to be the stay-at-home dad! We feel really lucky to be able to not put Reagan in daycare at this young of an age. I'm sure that once she (and any other children in the future... yes I want more!) are in school that I will go back to work during the week. But for now, there is no greater job in this world for me than to help her discover life and to help her grow into the smart and beautiful person that I already know she is going to be! So, my new title is: MOM. And guess what, in this position, I am the BOSS, CEO, PRESIDENT, and all those other positions on the corporate ladder that I once thought were so important to achieve! Now, there is no greater achievement for me than to see Reagan learning new things every day. And there is no greater reward than the hugs and kisses that she loves to give!
First and foremost, let me make it clear that I AM NOT A DOCTOR! However, I may as well be one. My daughter calls me Doctor Mommy, my nephew will not allow anyone but me to remove slivers/splinters from his hands, and my husband calls me the family pharmacist. So when I decided to make some changes to our family blog, Paging Doctor Mommy seemed like the perfect fit! And we’ve certainly had our fair share of medical dramas around here. Reagan was hospitalized with RSV for 17 days, she suffered severe second and third degree burns to the bottom of her feet, and she received 8 stitches above her left eye all before she was even two years old. And let’s not forget that my husband had to have three back surgeries (only one of which was planned) in less than three months!
Besides playing Doctor, I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, and a sister. I am a Carolina Girl who is living in a Canadian world. I am a full time stay-at-home mom and a part time wedding planner/bridal assistant. I am addicted to Starbucks coffee, I count Weight Watchers points like a crazed lunatic, I love to read, I love to run, I love the beach, and I crave the sun.
